NAPSTER'S RETURN

January 27, 2012 at 10:30

Fans of online music streaming service Spotify may want to lend an ear... Rhapsody, the US's biggest music subscription service, has recently bought Napster and is re-launching its services in the UK. Rivaling current competitors Spotify, We7 and Deezer, this revamped version of Napster will feature enhanced mobile apps, improved offline playback quality and more manageable playlists.

Whether Rhapsody's latest acquisition will dominate the UK's streaming market remains to be seen, however what they definitely have on their side is Napster's already strong presence within the consumer's awareness, due to its iconic name & history, which includes its founder Sean Parker being portrayed by Justin Timberlake in The Social Network.
